"Parris Island - The Rock Opera" - Written by Dave Landeo

Parris Island (The Rock Opera) is based on the journey of Marine Corps Boot Camp through the eyes of a recruit during his days of basic training.  The idea to do the rock opera came from songs I compiled over the years that came from my personal experience at Parris Island.  The initial group of seven songs were first performed at a Toys For Tots benefit in 1998 at a venue on the University of Tennessee Strip.  Since then, the idea has grown and evolved into 18 songs.  Just as a Marine is taught to improvise in adverse situations, I approached the project as thus…and started the production with zero dollars, white t-shirts and duct tape.  We'll see where it goes!  Enjoy the ride.  ~Dave  www.Landeo.com
