Landeo's Sol Juice Garners Praise For Its Fresh, Sparkling Tunes

By Emily Moore

During the debut release of Dave Landeo's Sol Juice at Club 106 in Downtown Knoxville, TN, the songwriter and his 9-piece band rocked the large crowd with many of the album's cuts, but the coup de gras of the band's jamming occurred when they performed "Keep On Runnin'," a Landeo Sol Juice original rock and roll tribute that deserves to be a Top Ten contender.

Sol Juice (ASIN 3710139513, Dante Music Entertainment) is Landeo's fifth album. While his musical mentors include bands such as Led Zeppelin and Yes, Landeo has created his own unique musical style through expertly crafted acoustic and rock 'n roll melodies, all offering fresh and introspective lyrics. As one of his fans notes, "Lyrically, Dave Landeo paints a great picture."

This imagery is especially evident in Landeo's latest album, the newly released Sol Juice, his fifth collection of original tunes.  Released through Dante Music Records. Sol Juice has a clean, cohesive sound, resplendent with excellent musical collaboration, and the mix doesn't bury the spontaneity evident in a Landeo live performance.

Originally from Nashville, TN, Dave Landeo grew up surrounded and influenced by career musicians, and he began his own study into rhythm at the age of four when he was handed a set of bongos.  By the time he was in fifth grade, he was playing a full set of drums in a local rock and roll band, and he debuted his first original song at the age of 17.  Since that time, Landeo has authored over 100 songs.

Landeo says he prefers rock music, "only because the energy can be expounded to a level an acoustic can't reach," yet he also enjoys "the ability to bring the dynamics of a warm, acoustic sound to life."

With a large and growing fan base both locally and nationally, Landeo has performed as far afield as the United Kingdom.  He's often on the road to various national locations where his performances delight audiences of all ages due not only to his original songs, but due to the fact that Landeo is such an entertaining and vigorous performer.

"A great aspect to his live performance is after he's said what he wants to say in the lyrics of his songs, he gets out of the way and lets the incredible musicians that he's surrounded himself with shine when it's time," says longtime Landeo fan, Doug Shock. "That is the sign of a seasoned, veteran, road-experienced musician whose ego never outweighs the quality of his music or the vision that he has for the legions of fans he's built over the years."
